Tolo is a beautiful seaside village with around 2,500 inhabitants. Located just a short distance south of Nafplio, it attracts many visitors during the summer season. Its image is at once picturesque, romantic, and idyllic. Built almost right on the beach, Tolo faces three charming little islands: Koronisi, Romvi, and Daskalio.The permanent residents are mainly involved in tourism and fishing. The area boasts excellent tourist infrastructure, while its natural beauty and the warm hospitality of its people make it a destination that attracts visitors from all over the world.

How to Get Here

You can reach Tolo by car via the Athens–Tripoli national highway, where you’ll find signs directing you toward Argos and Nafplio. Once you arrive in Nafplio, follow the signs to Tolo the village is located approximately 11 km from the town. In addition, the Nafplio KTEL bus service (+30 27520 27323) operates frequent daily routes to Tolo, making it easy to reach even without a car.

A Look Back in Time

Tolo has a rich history that dates back to ancient Asini and extends all the way to the present day. From being a safe Venetian harbor and a base for military campaigns, to becoming a fishing village for refugees from Crete, the village has evolved into a modern tourist resort without losing its original character. The sea has always been a central part of life here something that continues to set Tolo apart today, giving it a soul and a sense of authenticity that visitors can still feel.

Tolo Beach

Tolo Beach stretches for about one kilometer, starting from the organized “Psili Ammos” area and ending at the picturesque little harbor with its fishing boats and excursion vessels. Ideal for swimming and relaxation, it combines golden sand with the comfort of seaside tavernas, cafés, and bars right by the water. The waters are shallow, warm, and crystal clear perfect for children, while the area’s accommodations offer stunning views of the Argolic Gulf.

Koronisi, Romvi & Daskalio

Just across from Tolo lie three small rocky islets with enchanting beaches, perfect for those seeking peace and seclusion. There, you’ll find picturesque coves ideal for swimming and fishing, which you can reach by boat, pedal boat, canoe, or jet ski. There are no facilities on the islets, so it’s a good idea to bring everything you might need with you. Daily boat trips also take you to the nearby beaches of Plaka and Kondyli, located just 2 and 4 km from Tolo.

Nafplio Within Easy Reach

In just 10 minutes from Tolo, you can reach Nafplio, one of the most beautiful towns in Greece. The old town, with its neoclassical buildings, cobblestone alleys, and bougainvillea-filled courtyards, is perfect for leisurely walks, while the Palamidi and Bourtzi fortresses tell the story of the region’s rich past.Nafplio is also famous for its restaurants, cafés, and charming little shops, making it the perfect combination for a day trip full of sights, flavors, and culture.
